STL at the Races

Luis at 240 miles per hour

STL’s own Luis Collado has given a 180 degree turn to his career. Luis has found his true calling aboard a Formula Indy racing car. Luis reported to the team today for the first time and in his first few laps he has already surpassed Mario Andretti’s expectations. “Luis is a natural,” said the Formula 1 and Formula Indy legend, “the team is really looking for Luis to make a difference this year in the circuit.” Luis flew his car at an astonishing 150 MPH around the practice circuit.

When asked about this drastic change Luis was not at a loss for words “This is it. Architecture was nice but this is it - my life has changed.” Inspired by Luis’ enthusiasm architects everywhere are flocking to the tracks.

On a different side of the story Andretti unveiled for the first time his new vehicle to the surprise and awe of the press and special guests that were gathered at the track. “This has truly been the world’s best kept secret,” said Andretti.

The secret consisted in that STL Racing has fully designed and sponsored the new car. “We had a few bucks to spare,” said Derek Ottens, the Team’s general manager. “One Monday morning during a staff meeting we looked at each other and knew it was time to make a change.” On the technical front, the car is a beauty. To give our readers an idea of the hardware and software investments that have been poured into this technological wonder, let us just say that Luis will be able to fill out his timecard while driving around the track at backbreaking speed. “It’s great,” said Luis, “Ben has really outdone himself this time.” The Short Circuit Technology equipped vehicle is powered by a Chevrolet 5000 cc. 650 HP engine and has been fully engineered at STL. “We needed to design a vehicle that could be taken apart with a hammer, a screwdriver and a spatula,” said Jonathan Glick, logistics Design Director for STL Racing. Harold Bonilla, new Chief Mechanic for the team, is looking forward to a problem-free season although he has been spotted around the track shaking his head while repeating esta chueco (“it is crooked”).
