SOS Villages

SOS is an organization committed to providing safe homes for children in need. STL has been engaged by SOS to create a children’s village in Chicago. The design includes community space which is the heart of the village, providing space for village and non village residents to engage in community gathering. The remainder of the community includes the SOS apartments/Youth Homes which provides living space for young adults in the process of adjusting to independent living, fostering family apartments as well as volunteer and visitor apartments. At the heart of the village are the SOS homes which are row and single family homes providing nurturing family environments for children.
